The company was established in 2001, after the merger of Doms Adrian and the Bouchara group. Recordati acquired the two companies to increase its presence in France. Bouchara-Recordati is present in many therapeutic areas.

Recordati Ireland is dedicated to the manufacturing, marketing and licensing activities of proprietary pharmaceutical active ingredients, particularly for the international licensees of lercanidipine. Merckle Recordati GmbH (Germany)

The former branded pharmaceutical business of the Merckle-ratiopharm group in Germany became part of the Recordati group in 2005. It markets a line of prescription and OTC products.
